"Is this set useful?"
No. As a matter of fact, this set might just be one of the worst sets in the game. While The Flaming Trickster has a mediocre ring and whether the leather armor is useful or not is debatable, both its weapon and ability are horribly pathetic. Although the Dagger of the Flaming Stinger ignores the defense of enemies, its actual damage is comparable to that of a Fire Dagger, making its only asset moot in the Dagger of Invisible Pain or Bloodbath Dagger's raw damage output. The Prism may offer an invulnerability effect like the Seal of Blasphemous Prayer, but due to the Trickster being more able to dodge enemy fire than a Paladin with its high speed stat and longer range, the invulnerability is relatively useless. Even if one were to utilize the prism's ability, the high MP cost and the decoy potentially drawing fire away from the Trickster in the first place is already reason enough not to use the Prism of Bright Star.
Don't use this set. It may look cool, but it's one of the worst sets in the game.
"That's too bad. What items are recommended for use without completing the set?"
Perhaps the only item even worth considering is the Ring of Flaming Power, but even that isn't a very good item due to how mixed its stat bonuses are.
